The Windward Way of Home Care
December 1, 2025 | Aging Life Care, Caregiving, Home Care, Maintaining Independence

Home care is a way to get help at home with daily tasks that may become harder with age or illness. Services can include bathing, dressing, meal preparation, medication reminders, transportation, light housekeeping, and companionship. Home care provides peace of mind for many families, giving support while allowing the person receiving care to stay safe and independent in familiar surroundings.
At Windward Life Care, we offer home care as part of a broader approach to aging well. We work with each client to develop a personalized plan that reflects their needs, routines, and goals. Here’s how our approach makes home care personal and effective.
What to expect from home care
When beginning home care, it helps to know what you should expect:
- A clear, written plan tailored to the client’s needs.
- Consistent, trained, and qualified home care aides who are a good fit.
- Open communication and regular updates.
- Ongoing oversight and adjustments to care as things change.
Some clients may only need a few hours of care per week. Others benefit from daily support. Home care can be flexible, and the plan can grow or shift as needs evolve.
A licensed, professional home care provider
Windward Life Care is a licensed Home Care Organization (HCO) in the state of California. This means we follow all state regulations, including caregiver training, supervision, and background checks. Families who want to better understand the home care process can explore helpful state resources through the California Department of Social Services site.
Our home care aides also complete our Compass Care Certification, a 10-hour training program. This program includes instruction in dementia care, mental health, healthy aging, abuse prevention, safety, and communication. Before they begin working with clients, a registered nurse reviews and verifies their hands-on skills.
Consistency in care is important to us. Our employee turnover rate is just 33% compared to the national average of 79%, which means our clients benefit from stable, long-term relationships with their aides.
What clients say about our home care
Our 2025 client satisfaction survey reflects the value of this approach:
- Clients consistently report that our aides are compassionate, courteous, and professional.
- Services are seen as a good match for each client’s needs.
- Clients say home care has a positive impact on their day-to-day life and would recommend Windward to others.
