If you’re unsure whether home care, home health care, or another level of support is the right fit, contact us to discuss your needs.
Starting home care for yourself or a loved one is a significant step. We want to make the process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Home care, which may also be called in-home care or non-medical home care, focuses on assistance with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, meal preparation, companionship, and similar support. Home health care involves medically skilled services, such as nursing, medication management, and post-operative care. Windward provides both, and our care managers can help you determine which is right for your situation.
Costs vary based on the length of shift and your location within San Diego County. Unlike some agencies, we don’t charge more based on the type of care involved – the rate is the same whether your loved one needs light housekeeping or hands-on personal care. We’re happy to discuss your situation and provide a clear picture of what to expect. Call us at 619-450-4300 or fill out our contact form to start the conversation.
All Windward home care aides complete our proprietary Compass Care Certification – a 10-hour training program covering healthy aging, client safety, dementia care, mental health, developmental disability, end-of-life care, and the prevention of abuse and neglect. Each aide’s proficiency is assessed by our RN clinical services manager before certification is awarded, and ongoing continuing education is required throughout the year.
We take the matching process seriously too, pairing clients with aides who are the right fit for their personality, preferences, and household. All aides are supervised by an Aging Life Care Manager through regular home visits and check-ins – and our caregiver turnover rate is much less than the industry average, meaning clients benefit from consistency over time.
