The most important decisions older adults make involve how to age well. Whether you are planning your own journey, caring for an aging or disabled parent or loved one, you need someone you can trust.
Call us at (619) 450-4300 or email agingwell@windwardlifecare.com to learn more about our services.
Windward Life Care is accredited by the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating. We are licensed with the Home Care Service Bureau and a member of the California Association for Health Services at Home (CAHSAH).
Our compassionate home care staff are highly skilled and certified caregivers who provide high-quality care for older adults and individuals with disabilities. They have the oversight and support of our care management team, certified by the Aging Life Care Association® (ALCA), with backgrounds in counseling, social work, and nursing.
Our team is on call 24/7 should an emergency arise. Your after-hours calls go directly to Windward employees with access to your records, not a call center.
Clients who need ongoing assistance with cooking, housekeeping, bathing, dressing, and other daily tasks would most benefit from regular visits from our highly trained home care aides. The level of support from home care aides can range from a few hours per week to 24/7 care, depending on each client’s particular needs.
Windward Life Care was founded in 2004 to provide premier home-based care services to San Diego’s older and disabled adults. Drawing on our many years of experience in in-home care, home health, and geriatric care management, Windward offers clients the highest degree of professional service and hands-on care available to older and disabled adults in San Diego.
We are proud to have touched the lives of hundreds of our clients and their families, both through our day-to-day work and our community partnerships.

Working with Windward Life Care means you are working with a team of vetted, well-trained, and professional caregivers. Windward is a fully licensed home care agency, which means you can breathe easy as we manage all payroll, taxes, and hold professional liability, bond, and worker’s compensation insurance. This allows you to focus on spending your time on your terms, or with your loved one, as opposed to managing day-to-day affairs. If you hire privately, you may be left vulnerable if the aide is sick, needs to take time off, or suffers an on-the-job injury.
Windward Life Care uses an integrated model of care, where a professional Aging Life Care Manager (geriatric care manager) supervises and works closely with home care aides. The Windward team develops a customized care plan that evolves with the client’s situation, and all team members are in regular communication as client needs change. Our goal is to improve overall quality of life by helping clients to not only live comfortably, but to thrive while aging. Also, in case of an emergency, the care manager can lead the team in advocating for the client’s interests. Windward has an interdisciplinary team of care managers who bring years of experience to their work and observe the code of ethics and standards of practice of the Aging Life Care Association™.
In addition to our own home care aide employees, we collaborate with family caregivers, private duty caregivers, and caregivers from other agencies.
An Aging Life Care Manager is available to you by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the event of a physical or mental health crisis. Our on-call care manager can advocate for clients in a hospital, emergency room, or other settings quickly and efficiently.
We offer a free phone consultation to review your or your loved one’s needs. After completing the service agreement, we set up an assessment with an Aging Life Care Manager to create a personalized plan of care. This plan of care evolves according to your unique needs over time. The care manager is your primary point of contact as you navigate the aging journey together.
