Prior to joining the Windward team as an Aging Life Care Manager, Korie worked extensively with individuals, from infants to older adults, who had physical and developmental disabilities. She combines six years of experience as a case manager with hands-on skills as a certified nursing assistant at a skilled nursing facility, where she proactively coordinated with other staff to aid in the comprehensive care, both mental and physical, of her patients. Korie received a bachelor of arts degree in human developmental sciences from the University of California, San Diego, with a double minor in psychology and biology. Korie is Care Manager Certified (CMC) and a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP).
“While working at a skilled nursing facility, I saw the daily struggles residents and their families faced while having to juggle doctors’ appointments, transportation arrangements, medications, and financial matters. Years later, I experienced this situation first-hand when my father was admitted to a nursing facility after a debilitating injury. In my role as an Aging Life Care Manager, I aim to simplify the aging process for my clients and their loved ones so that time spent together can solely focus on creating invaluable memories.”
